Bio

Pauline Wambui Maina studied Civil and Construction Engineering at the University of Nairobi, graduating with First Class Honours in August 2014. She has since been a Graduate Structural Engineer at Howard Humphreys East Africa Ltd, an Atkins Company.

Presently, Wambui is at the thesis level in pursuit of her MA in Construction Management at the University of Nairobi. She also has keen interest in the Creative Arts, having established and run a thriving Interior Design and Decor business while doing her undergraduate degree.

Wambui enjoys a good book once in a while_ especially if it has tables and figures in it, cooking, and seeking adventure in the outdoors!

Topic : The Impact of Culture in the way we build

Bio

Mr. Thobias is currently living in Kenya and works for the African Development Bank.

He also worked in a number of other institutions in different capacities, in countries such as Tanzania, Tunisia, United Kingdom and Switzerland. At his capacity he interacted with major global business partners from Emirates, France, India, Japan, Switzerland, US, UK and several African countries.

He had an opportunity to serve the East African Community and Bank of Tanzania over a period of 17 years.

Sharing knowledge and capacity building is his passion. Besides his busy schedule he always finds time to interact with students. He had an opportunity to facilitate training in higher learning institutions in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia.

He is also a member of a support group for an orphanage Center in Arusha & Nairobi and visits primary schools to motivate teachers in team building activities and several other areas aimed at improving performance. He also volunteers to deliver training in the corporate world including those targeted to International organizations.

Mr. Thobias is a graduate and a professional member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply and the Project Management Institute. He is also a member of both United Nations High Level Committee on Management and the Network of Procurement in International Organizations.

He is a Toastmasters and a John Maxwell certified coach, and speaker and Trainer.

He holds an MBA (Finance), a Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management (MCIPS), both from UK, and a Graduate Diploma in Banking (TZ). He is also a certified Project Manager (PMI). - USA

Sylvia Mueni Kasanga is a nominated Senator, lead architect and Chief Executive Officer of Sycum Solutions. She is also a RIBA Chartered Architect and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). She has been instrumental in bringing a new perspective and an improved look to the Nairobi skyline. She will be presenting on Dispute Resolution in the Construction Industry in Kenya: The Role of the Architect during our annual convention this year.
